Meet Sarah Prosser, Head of School
As AIA's Head of School, Sarah Prosser brings more than 16 years of Montessori teaching and administrative experience, and a career that began, like so many of ours, as a parent in the classroom.

A Montessori Journey From Parent to Head of School
Sarah's Montessori journey began as a parent volunteer at Montessori World School and grew over time through service as a PTO parent, substitute, Assistant Guide, Lead Guide, Assistant Head of School, and ultimately Head of School. In that leadership role, she helped guide a Montessori community serving children from the earliest years through elementary and middle school, giving her a broad understanding of each stage of a child's development.
Sarah brings an unusual breadth of perspective to school leadership. She has experienced Montessori community life as a parent, volunteer, classroom guide, administrator, and Head of School.
Leadership Rooted in Relationships
As Head of School at Alpharetta International Academy, Sarah is honored to lead a community where curiosity is nurtured, independence is celebrated, and children are encouraged to become compassionate, confident citizens of the world. She views her role as both steward and visionary: preserving the traditions and values that make AIA so special while thoughtfully guiding its future with purpose, collaboration, and care.
Sarah's leadership philosophy is deeply rooted in Montessori principles. She strives to lead with grace, respect, and empathy, modeling the same values we hope to cultivate in our children. She believes every member of a school community has an innate desire to belong, contribute, and continue growing, and she is passionate about creating an environment where students flourish, teachers feel supported and inspired, and families become valued partners in their children's educational journey.
Drawn to the AIA Community
When Sarah first visited Alpharetta International Academy, she immediately felt something special. Nestled among the trees, the peaceful campus reflected the calm beauty of Montessori education, while the warmth of the students, faculty, and families revealed a vibrant community grounded in kindness, purpose, and connection. She knew she had found a place where her own values and vision aligned naturally with those of the school.
Sarah is especially inspired by AIA's diverse and international community, where children and families from many backgrounds come together to learn, celebrate, and grow. She believes this diversity is one of AIA's greatest strengths and an important part of preparing children to become thoughtful, compassionate citizens of the world.
Originally from Marlow in Buckinghamshire, England, Sarah moved to the United States with her husband in 1998. She is a proud Montessori parent to two sons and shares her home with a Sheepadoodle and two cats. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time in nature, reading, attending live music and theatre performances, and practicing meditation, activities that help cultivate the balance and mindfulness she brings to her leadership.
Sarah considers it a privilege to serve the AIA community. She believes that when children are surrounded by adults who lead with curiosity, compassion, and joy, extraordinary things are possible.
