Alpharetta International Academy is a private, non-profit Montessori school for children ages 18 months through 5th grade.

AIA is committed to providing the highest quality education for our students. We have wonderful, diverse staff who love children and are passionate about teaching. Our lead teachers are experienced and have Montessori training. They participate in professional development on a regular basis and attend national Montessori conferences for continuing education. Dixie Oliver, our Founding Director, began her career as an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) teacher. She has been a leader in the Montessori community for over 25 years, helping to start Montessori schools and train teachers around the world.

Sharing our passion for Montessori is part of our culture. Through small group forums and education nights, we invite parents to learn more about the uniqueness of a Montessori education and the importance of their involvement in the educational process. Over the years, AIA has encouraged and trained many intern teachers working towards their certification under the supervision of an AIA teacher. Several of our aides are currently working towards a Montessori certification.

AIA has consistently grown over the years by referrals of families who have enjoyed being part of our community. We invite you to come see for yourself our unique learning environment. Please call our office to schedule an appointment to learn more about us and observe a classroom.

"Thank you so much for your kind words Dixie. Your lifelong contributions to the education and positive development of young children is so exceptional that you are head and shoulders above the rest."

From Dr. Freland L. Meadows, Ph.D. - Goizueta Endowed Chair of Early Childhood Education, Kennesaw State University
