A Note from Mrs. Reynolds

My name is Liz Reynolds and I would like to welcome you to the 2008 - 2009 school
year at AIA. I would like to extend a warm hello to my new students and their families.

I have been teaching Montessori in the Atlanta area since 1993 and I am thrilled to be
joining such an excellent school. Providing a warm, caring, nurturing and academically
challenging classroom is my primary goal. I'm a firm believer that Montessori's
philosophy of "freedom with responsibility" along with the Montessori materials allow
children to have a sense of independence and the desire to do work thoroughly and
beautifully. I love working with children and believe that every child has great potential
just waiting to be discovered.

I would love to meet you and your children before the first day, so please feel free to
visit me in our classroom on Monday, August 11th or Tuesday, August 12th from 9:00
AM to 11:00 AM. We want to make this transition time as easy as possible.

Please attend our curriculum night on Tuesday, August 19th at 6:30 PM. I will discuss
our daily classroom routine, our policies and procedures (birthday celebrations,
monthly units of study, reading parents, etc.)

Important things to note:
- Lunch bunch starts in September - the date and times will be announced soon!
- Please follow the carpool procedures. Our carpool time is 8:30 - 8:45 AM and noon
pickup time is 11:45-12:00 P.M. We need to stay within our allotted times, so please
make a note of these times!
- A "Mommy Pouch" will be attached to your child's school bag. Please place all
correspondence in this pocket and hang on the outside of your bag. I will do the
same. If no information is needed to be shared, the pocket will remain in the bag.

concerns or questions. Look forward to monthly emails to keep you informed of our
classroom activities. I'll return e-mails as our daily schedule permits. Information may

- Our Parent night is August 19 at 6:30. It would be great to see every family
represented. I hope to see you there!
- A Parent Education Night Series will begin September 17th . Parents have 2 years
to complete these classes. Further information will be announced on the 19th (our
curriculum night).
