A Note from Mrs. Phillips

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year. Alpharetta International Academy and I are
dedicated to the academic and emotional success of your child. I look forward to
getting to know all of our new families. And a heart felt welcome back to our
returning families. We have a wonderful year ahead of us.

The first mandatory Parent Meeting is scheduled for August 19th at 6:30pm. This is
a very important meeting for all parents new and returning. At that time I will be
explaining the classroom and our daily routine. We will also cover observing,
reading parent, birthday celebrations, and any question about the classroom. Our
first individual conferences are in early October. If you have any questions or
concerns about your child before this time please feel free to contact me by sending
a note with your child or e-mail me at bphillips@aiamontessori.com, I will get back
to you as soon as our daily schedule permits. Email is our main source of
communication. I will be sending a bi-monthly email to keep you informed on what's
going on in the classroom and upcoming events. You may also go to the school web
site (www.aiamontessori.com) and click on the class connection for information.

The Parent Education Nights will be announced at the meeting on the 19th. These
education evenings are mandatory for all new parents; they can be completed over
two years.

Our morning carpool time will be 8:45 - 9:00 and the noon pick-up time is 11:45 -
12:00. Thank you for being prompt. With 5 primary classrooms it is important to
stay with in our time space. Please do not send your child in before 8:45. This is our
set up time and we may not be in the classroom. If you need to make special
arrangements please contact me a few days prior. Please use the carpool line. It is
dangerous for children to be crossing the parking lot at this time.

Please note lunch bunch does not start for a few weeks to allow the children to get
accustom to the routine of the classroom before embarking on lunch.

I will be attaching a mommy pocket (the little zipper pencil case) to your child's
school bag. Please use this pocket when sending any notes to school and I will do the
same for letters sent home. When the pocket is not in use please place it in the bag
to indicate there is no note. If the pocket should become lost it will become your
responsibility to replace it.
