A Note from Mrs. Pandya We want to extend a warm welcome our new families and returning families for the year 2008-2009. We are happy to have you as a part of our AIA family where we strive for academic, social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of your child through the Montessori teaching method. I am excited to meet and learn more about you. My name is Vandna Pandya. I have been with AIA for 3 years. I have a master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Georgia State University, and a degree in Education. I received my Montessori certification through North American Montessori Centre. I am blessed with a wonderful husband and two children. My children Rushabh (9) and Rujul (6) are both graduates of AIA. My family and I live in Johns Creek. Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 20, at 6:30pm to attend our Parent meeting. This is a very important meeting for all parents. I will be discussing the daily classroom routine and year round activities. There is an opportunity to learn more about the Montessori classroom at the Parent Education Night Series, which will start on September 17. There will be further information about these classes at our meeting on the August 20. lThrough the year I will be using email to communicate with all parents. This is a great way of communication as we let you know what is happening at the school and in the classroom and, in turn, for you to let us know if your child is going to be late or is out of the school due to sickness. My email address is: vpandya@aiamontessori.com. Please make an initial email to me so I will have your most current address. Information may also be obtained by visiting our school website at www.aiamontessori.com. Please click on our Class Connection for classroom news. We will be attaching "Mommy Pocket" to your child's book bags on the first day of school. This is our "land line" way of communication between teacher and parents. If you have any message, place it in the pocket and place it outside the bag. If the pocket is empty, it should be inside the bag. All the written correspondence from school and classroom will be sent in the "Mommy Pocket". If the pouch is lost, please replace it as soon as possible. Another "must know" item is: morning carpool is from 8:45- 9:00am and midday pickup is 11:45 to 12:00pm. The afternoon pickup for Kindergarteners and afternooners will be from 2.45 to 3.00pm. Please make sure to use the carpool during these times. For late drop-offs and early or late pickups, please be sure to go through the office. Please do not send your child alone to the classroom because there is no Greeter in the parking lot -- if you are early, it means our classroom doors are not yet open, and if you are late, you must go through the office. And, lastly, lunch Bunch will not start for few weeks with sign ups in the office. Lunch Bunch pickup is between 12:55-1:00pm. I feel that it is my privilege and honor to be your child's teacher. I am looking forward to having a relationship that will enhance your child's development and learning. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have. Looking forward to a wonderful Year ahead of us. Sincerely, Vandna Pandya |
