All lead teachers at Alpharetta International Academy are Montessori-trained and come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Lead teachers participate in professional development on a monthly basis. We are committed to providing the highest quality Montessori education for all children. Our Mission - To work together with parents to develop the potential of each child. - To maintain Montessori standards with a well-prepared classroom. - To emphasize the acquisition of critical early childhood learning skills. - To utilize the child's need for movement and exploration within their sphere of learning. - To instill a love of learning. - To teach children to respect and care for their environment. - To guide children in social responsibility and citizenship. - To provide a cultural and creative atmosphere for appreciation of the arts. - To work together with parents to guide the children in ethical disciplines of honesty and integrity. |
Administration |
Director - Dixie Oliver After having taught children and teachers in the U.S. and other countries using traditional educational methods, Dixie Oliver learned of the teachings of Maria Montessori. She studied and earned her Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certification at the Montessori Institute of Atlanta, after which she started her own school in 1981. |
