A Note from Mrs. Scott

Hello everyone! Every year our school participates in the Appalachian Adopt A Child
Project. Each class gets a boy and girl to adopt and provide Christmas for. This area
of the country is severely poverty stricken. A lot of the families do not have running
water or other utilities that we are so accustomed to. This is such a great way to
teach our children that not everyone has such a fortunate life as we do. This is
STRICTLY voluntary, so please only do what you are comfortable with.

Mrs Aimee Reid will be heading this project for our class:

If you choose to participate, please send only new items. Also, wrap the present and
put the child's full name and number provided on the present. If you would like to
donate used things, that will be taken separate from the new presents. When you
purchase the item/items, please email Mrs Reid and let her know what you have
purchased. That way, She'll have a list of what needs to be purchased at the end. If
you would like to just donate money, She would like to go and shop for the items as
well

As noted on the sheets that went home today: There were pictures of the children,
their circumstances, and what their wishes are. Some of the items are larger so
multiple families may want to donate together or make a cash contribution toward an
large item. All items are appreciated and will be transported by Mrs Reid. And for that
reason please let her know well in advance what your intentions are for larger items.
She will be transporting the gifts on the 14th and would also like to have time to go
shopping if need be or if vehicle arrangements need to be made.

I know we will have a fantastic turnout!

Sincerely,
Ariana Scott
